India has successfully established various defence technologies required for the development and production of modern defence equipment and complex systems.
Many of the equipment designed, developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and manufactured indigenously have been deployed, tested, performed to the full specification, and proved successful during “Operation Sindoor.” Bulk production of these equipment and systems to meet our own services and enhanced export requirement is the priority goal.
DRDO, as a premier agency under the Ministry of Defence, continues to lead the nation’s efforts in defence technology, innovation, and research. The vibrant Indian academia and rapidly maturing Industrial sector are vital partners in this endeavour.
To harness the collective strengths of these three pillars - DRDO, Industry, and Academia, Institute of Defence Scientists & Technologists (IDST), is organising this conclave.
The Primary aim of the conclave is to establish and deepen synergies among DRDO, Industry and Academic institutions, thereby accelerating research and development (R&D), fostering innovation, and facilitating the translation of cutting-edge research into deployable technologies for national security and societal needs.
SCOPE
The conclave is envisioned as a national-level event spanning two days, bringing together a diverse range of participants and stakeholders - DRDO, Centres of Excellence, Army Design Bureau, Services HQ, Representatives from leading academic institutions, leaders from defence, aerospace, information technology, materials science, manufacturing and Start-ups.
EVENT STRUCTURE
The two days conclave will be structured to maximise knowledge exchange , net- working and actionable outcomes. Various sessions are being planned as under:
Inaugural Session: With addresses by the Chief Guest and Key note speaker.
DRDO Session: Having talks on Futuristic Technologies; Policies related to Defence Production coordination and Services Interaction; DRDO policies on funding and startups.
Centres of Excellence & Academia Session: With a Key note address on the session theme, three experts from academia shall showcase technological status related to their expertise in their centres / institutes, highlighting the resources available and scope for furthering their efforts in
research.
DRDO Labs Session: Four talks on specialised equipment groups viz. Radars & Communication; Robots & Drones; Armaments with a case study and Transfer of Technology (ToT) procedure with specific examples of Semiconductor materials and devices.
Invited Talks: On topics like Engineering Systems, Missile Systems, Laser Weapons, Quantum Technology, Naval Systems, Combat Vehicles and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning.
