BRANCH GET-TOGETHER - 2010

Bangalore branch of IDST organized a "get-together" on the 18th of December 2010 at DROMI in C.V.RAMAN NAGAR. All the members alongwith their spouses were invited to this social evening . In this maiden effort, it was our endeavour ,to provide a platform and an opportunity, for the members and their families to get together and interact with each other. The event was expected to forge better comeraderie amongst the members and their families ,and also provide an opportunity to the spouses, to come together and revive past links and make new acquaintances . The event received an overwhelming response and lady spouses also attended in large numbers. Directors of local DRDO laboratories and their spouses were also invited.

DROMI was decked up for the event and presented an excellent venue wearing a festive hue with light instrumental music playing in the background. Tables were laid on the decorated DROMI Lawns. All the members and their spouses thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the Dinner organized for them.

During the course of this evening Wg. Cdr.(Retd.) P.S.MATHUR (Past Secretary of Bangalore Branch) and Mrs. Mathur were felicitated for his outstanding service to IDST Bangalore.

Members and their families were very enthusiastic about such events and expressed their happiness in attending such and similar events. Many members and their families suggested that such get togethers should be organized more frequently View photographs in the Photo Gallery.

NEW-YEAR GET TOGETHER – 2012

New Year brought with it an immense sense of anticipation for the members of IDST Bangalore and the year long wait for the members culminated into an unprecedented response to our invitation for the GET-TOGETHER on the 27th. of January2012.

The New- Year party was attended by a large number of members and their spouses including some very senior members like Dr. V.K.Atre Former SA to RM and the Founder Patron of IDST, Shri Vivek R. Sinha former Additional Secretary DRDO, Dr. K.G.Narayanan Former Distinguished Scientist and Chief Advisor DRDO and several retired Directors of DRDO.

All the IDST Central Council Members and the President Shri K. Srinivasa also graced this lively get-together. The most distinguishing feature of this get- together was the extremely colourful presence of a large number of ladies/wives of the members, who very enthusiastically took part in this annual event.

All the members were very appreciative of the arrangements made and were seen to be enjoying the occasion interacting with their old friends and colleagues.

Elections for the Sixth Regional Council IDST(B)

The process of election of the Sixth Regional Council for IDST(Bangalore) was started and successfully completed under Shri K.B.S.Nakra – Returning Officer. The five candidates who were declared elected to the Sixth Regional Council are as follows:-

1. Shri P. Raghottam Rao
2. Shri C.U.Hari
3. Shri K.Seshasayan
4. Shri V.K.Kalyanam
5. Shri M.R.Suryanarayan Singh

Subsequently-as per the rules- office-bearers election for the Sixth Regional Council was conducted by the present Chairman of the council Shri K.Nagraj.The following office-bearers were declared duly elected to the posts mentioned against their names:-

The newly elected Regional Council was duly introduced to the IDST(B) General body during the 9th. AGM. The elected office – Bearers of the Sixth Regional Council will assume office on 1st. October 2012.
